Mandatory
Substances of Very High Concern on the ECHA Candidate List, above 0.1% w/w, disclosed under REACH Article 33. PMT/vPvM substances become mandatory from 1 November 2026.
Voluntary
Dye allergens, PFAS, flame retardants and finishing chemicals not yet EU-restricted but flagged by dermatological bodies, including azo dyes and formaldehyde-based finishing agents.
PFAS
An ECHA restriction proposal covering textiles has been under review since 2023; final opinions are expected by end-2026, with implementation unlikely before 2029.
